Well folks, it looks like the Blog Gods have decided to smite me and my blog. I've been informed that my little corner of the Information Superhighway is being demolished to make room for a new cyber gas station (HAHA). My blog will become a part of Internet history around Labor Day. In case I don't get a chance to post another entry before Labor Day, I want to leave you with some final thoughts about winning contests.

If there is one thing I hate to hear people say it's. "I never win anything". In my opinion, someone who walks around saying "I never win anything", has a defeatist attitude. They are commonly known as losers. Babe Ruth hit 714 home runs, but he also struck out 1,330 times. If Babe Ruth had let the strike outs color his vision of life, he would have never had the self confidence to hit 714 home runs. To win a lot, you have to enter a lot of contests. I once ran the statistics on my "batting average" when it comes win winning contests, and I win 30% of all the contests I enter, which means I loose 70% of the time. I forget the contests I loose, and remember the ones I win. Every time I enter a contest, I automatically expect to win. It's just part of having a positive attitude. DO NOT let the losers influence your confidence when it coming to entering & winning contests.

Cheek Motors in Miami, in conjunction with KSN TV 16, is once again giving everyone in the four state area a chance to have a chance at $1,000,000. Enter the contest as follows.

Go to Cheek Auto Mall (1640 N. Main Miami, OK 74354) and register. Watch KSN News at 5, 6 & 10:00 PM. When your name is displayed on the screen, call KSN the next business day to get your name on the list of people who can pick keys out of the fish bowl on a certain day (I didn't hear the exact date). If the key you choose, starts the car you choose to start, the you win $1,000,000. The odds of anyone actually winning this contest are astronomically high, however several years ago someone actually picked the right key & the right car and actually won the $1,000,000.

They've tried this once before, and received such a tepid response that they stopped contesting via email.

OK, folks I jumped the gun last week when I said that last was the last week of the Magic money contest. This week is actually the last week of the contest. I have only heard about three of the clues this week, but I am fairly certain that Magic will be at Upstairs Boutique at 502 Main in Joplin on Thursday evening

We're now into what I call the "dog days" of contesting. During the Summer months there really aren't very many contests worth winning (unless going to concerts sounds appealing). On the positive side, since the aren't any big contests going on, it is possible to win a contest that has pizza and movie rentals as a prize (aka minimum wage winning), and not have the "30 day winning rule" become a curse because there was a bigger prize on the horizon that you have to disqualify yourself from playing.

After listening to the clues for the week, I think I have figured out where Magic will be this Thursday giving away money. The first few clues had to do with "sweets" and "fresh fruit", Tuesday night's clue had to do with ""eagles soar nearby". The last clue makes me think that Magic will be at Choc-o-late Creations on 20th Street on Thursday. The time of the remote will be announced at 7:20 on Thursday. The DJ said that this will be the last week for this contest.

OK folks, I think I've figured out the general vicinity where Magic 93.9 will be Thursday. Wednesday night's clue was "next door used to be a house of catfish, now it's something new to put on your dish". Dowd's Catfish used to be at 2020 Rangeline, now the restaurant is "Philly's". A previous clue said that the building was red & white. There are several buildings in that one block radius that are red & white, including Philly's & Arby's. GOOD LUCK (unless of course it's like last week, and you arrive there ahead of me and take all the money and there's nothing left for me).
