By all rights, I should be a flaming liberal. My father was a college English professor and a published novelist and my mother a published poet. I am a former public school music teacher and children's librarian. Now I am a free-lance musician/storyteller. So what went wrong? How did I slip into the ranks of the narrow minded, mean spirited, bigoted and selfish conservatives? Well, I can't claim it was because I got wealthy--my husband and I have a combined income of about $30,000. I usually just tell people that I used to be a liberal, but I outgrew it, thank God. It's kind of like outgrowing thumb sucking. Why I grew into conservatism would take a book to tell, but here are a few random thoughts.
