Twice
a year, The Globe’s educational services department
holds teacher workshops to explore, in-depth, the
ways newspapers can be integrated into the curriculum.
Each workshop is geared toward helping teachers meet
state educational standards and grade-level expectations
through use of the daily newspaper.
Educational Services conducts a fall workshop in October
and a spring workshop in February, with registration
advertised in The Globe and on this website in advance.
Workshops are held for communication arts, math, language
arts,
social studies and science.
A $10 fee pays for dinner, all materials and an NIE
workbook, which includes reproducible lesson plans
that can be used in the classroom the next day. Workshops
are limited to 20 teachers. Time permitting, the workshops
include a tour of The Globe building and press facility.
For
more information or to register for a workshop early,
