Newspaper
In Education, or NIE, is a Joplin Globe program
that provides newspapers to area classrooms to be used
as an educational resource. The mission
of the NIE program is to encourage literacy, connect
students to their communities, help them develop a global
perspective, and provide educators with a powerful teaching
tool to support and enhance the curriculum. From kindergarten
through college, students of
all ages benefit from NIE!

Our HOT Apple PIE
website provides a weekly, interactive news experience
for teachers and students. Teachers will find a wide
range of news-related lesson plans (Language Arts,
Math, Science and Social Studies) that meet state
standards, and an EASY way
to integrate technology into your program. It offers
students writing assignments with instruction, video
and polling, informational text with interactive comprehension
quizzes and much more. It's easy to use, it makes
use of the latest in technology's learning tools,
and it's fun!"
