I was excited when the Globe asked me to do a sports blog for their website and am looking forward to throwing my thoughts and opinions out there for others to read. I would really like to get as much feedback as possible, good or bad, out of this. I believe it could be a lot of fun.
I worked at KODE-TV in Joplin for 10 years as a weekend sports anchor and then the sports director and have lots of knowledge on local and regional sports. I provide color commentary for Missouri Southern basketball games on radio and am the public address announcer at Southern football games. Currently I teach TV Production at Joplin High School. We have a great program here at JHS and some very talented kids as well. JET-14 (Joplin Eagles Television) is the name of our station and we can be found on channel 14 on Cable One. I am also doing a weekly interview show called “Take 10” from the JET-14 studio that can be seen right here on the Globe’s website.
